Internship Program

Program Description | Intern Position Description | Senior Intern Position Description | Application
Urban Digs works closely together with Yummy Yards, another local farm. One of the projects we're collaborating on this year is our internship programs.   Selected interns will be assigned to either Urban Digs or Yummy Yards for the duration of the program but administration, training and, and weekly meetings/dinners will happen together.

Thank you for your interest in becoming an intern with Urban Digs or Yummy Yards for the 2012 growing season.  We have an exciting season planned and we hope that you will be part of it.  Our internship opportunities will improve your skills, offer work experience and best of all, will be great fun.

Please review the internship position descriptions  for details on responsibilities and commitments required of the position. We are looking for enthusiastic, reliable, mindful, hard working individuals who are passionate about growing local food, sustainable (regenerative) agriculture and who would make a positive contribution to our farm teams.  Interns are expected to take their role very seriously and must be able to commit from 10-18 hours/week from May 1st to August 31st.

In preparation for joining us, interns must attend a mandatory two hour orientation session on Saturday April 28th from 4-6PM and a six hour training session on Sunday April 29th.

Interns receive ongoing support during their placement as well as two farm T-shirts, a weekly intern harvest box, and a letter of reference upon completion of the program.

If you are interested in interning with us please read the position description (below) thoroughly and fill out the following application form carefully. Applications will be considered on a first-come-first-served basis and the first selection will be based entirely on the information you provide on your form. The final deadline for applications is March 5th.  We will contact prospective interns for an interview. If you are not called by March 15th, it is unlikely that you have been selected this year. We do encourage you to try again next year.

We are looking forward to hearing from you!
