Herbs & Boxes At Your Request
Posted by Kiera Floor on
Hope everyone had a wonderful long weekend! I went home with the stinkiest hands - in a good way. Harvesting herbs at the farm for future sausage ingredients, so be sure to keep your eyes peeled for what's being made this week! The herbs we grow at the farm are also for sale, so if you're in a pinch and need some fresh cut organic herbs for dinner (or a post-dinner cocktail, we have wonderful orange mint and chocolate mint hiding at the farm) let me know and I'll harvest a fresh bundle! Our Harvest Boxes have been such...
Happy Canada Day! (Please give us your empty egg cartons..)

With the weather improving, the farm is looking better and better (and not wetter and wetter) and BBQ season has come upon us. With the long weekend coming up, we have two kinds of Canadian-themed products ready to be devoured this Canada Day: Maple Bacon Smokies & Maple Whiskey Burgers. These mouth-watering selections will be available at the farm stand this week. Wishing everyone a safe, sun-protected, and hydrated long weekend! While it's very charming to sell eggs in little brown paper sacks, we're in desperate need of egg cartons. If you have any cartons, please bring them down to the...
Pigs in the pasture, produce in the fridges

Can anyone else believe that it's almost the end of June? I'm having a hard time grasping this concept (despite its annual occurrance) and it could be due to the rain we experienced on Saturday. Kudos to everyone who proudly threw on their rain boots and showed up at the farm for their by-donation hot-n-ready Andouille Smokie. I think we all know who the winners of that day were.If you've been by to visit the pigs lately, you might have wondered if they've been moved. Not the case! We opened up the pasture next to the pig pen to let...
We've got you covered for Father's Day!

You might be asking yourself, "What's up with the weather lately, Kiera?" to which I'll respond: All weather is Occupy Your Kitchen weather! Toasty or chilly (chili anyone?) we have a host of excellent ingredients to help make an easy meal at home. Mind you, preparing delicious food seemed a lot trickier before you knew a thing or two! At the farm, you can always ask about recipes or ingredients; you're encouraged to tell us how you did post-meal, and don't forget to bring your fruit, vegetable, and bakery scraps to the pigs! This upcoming Sunday is Father's Day, and...
Piglet names are in!

The chickens and goats were SUPER happy this week as we let them out into the new pasture which is chock full of tasty weeds and bugs. While we were re-organizing the chicken run we realized that we have quite a few "broody" hens sitting on eggs so watch for some little chicks running around soon. It only takes 3 weeks to hatch eggs so shouldn't be long now. Thanks to all of you who voted in our piglet naming poll last week. The votes have been counted and the winning names are: Saffron Parsley Sage The pigs are getting friendlier...
