Urban Digs Beasty Box Member Agreement
Please Note: When you join, you will be asked to choose a pickup location. Our pickup locations have not been finalized yet as we want to see where members are located before assigning them. Please choose the nearest pickup location to you. We will notify everyone when when we add a new pickup location and you will be able to change to the new location if you want to at that time. If there is not enough interest in an existing pickup location, it will be moved to a more central location.
Member Agreement
By signing up, I commit to membership in the Urban Digs Farm Beasty Box Program for the 2013-2014 winter season. I acknowledge that there are no refunds, but that I may sell my share to a friend or someone else on the waiting list.
As a member, I commit to supporting the farm through timely payments, timely and clear communications with the farmer, and timely and gustatory enjoyment of the food received. I understand that if I will be away, it is my responsibility to make arrangements for someone else to pick up my box or to put my box on "hold." (All Beasty Box items may be held for pickup upon your return.) I commit to returning last week's containers, re-usable packaging, ice pack and any other equipment that came with last week's box when I pick up the next week's box.
I understand that due to the nature of whole animal butchery, Beasty boxes will contain a variety of meats/cuts and will also vary in weight, size and selection throughout the season with an AVERAGE value of $45/week with $5 going into packaging, fuel/electricity/storage costs, newsletter writing etc. I understand that the contents of my box will fluctuate in value from week to week but that over the course of the 10 week season, I will receive at least $450 worth of meat & value added products.
I also understand that the quality and value of the meat in the Beasty Boxes is much higher than the factory farmed meat I would find in most grocery stores because of the more ethical, sustainable way the animals are being raised.
I understand that members become an integral part of the Urban Digs Farm community. I have read over all the information on this and the preceding pages, understand how the program works and will contact Urban Digs Farm if I have any questions or concerns.
Payment Options
We offer a number of payment options including cash, cheque, Interac email money transfers, bank transfers and credit card via Paypal. While we understand that paying by credit card might be the most convenient method for many members, it does increase our costs significantly so please consider another payment method if you can.
Privacy
We will never share your personal information with any third party for any purpose other than managing your subscription. To this end, the following parties are involved in managing our Harvest Box program:
Communication
You will receive our newsletters throughout the year. During the Harvest Box season, it will be sent out weekly and will contain a section dedicated to members of the Harvest Box program where we will let you know what to expect in your next box and other member specific information. Additional information will be sent to members only via email. Please make sure that you add us to your contacts so our emails don't get lost in your spam folder.
If you need to contact us, email is the best method of communication. We receive emails on our smart phones and will reply as quickly as possible. It is often difficult to answer the phone as our hands are often busy, muddy, gloved, or any combination of the three :) If you would like us to call you, please just leave our number in an email and we'll give you a shout right back.
The best way to stay on top of the goings on at the farm is to follow us on Twitter. We tweet multiple times a day, often with pictures! Our Facebook page is also regularly updated.

- Reup BBQ: We are partnering with Reup BBQ on the Beasty Boxes so we will be sharing member information with them to be used in putting together this part of the program.
- Paypal: We are offering the option of paying for your subscription using Paypal. You are not required to have a Paypal account to make payments using Paypal. This method of payment is completely voluntary.
